It takes courage and wisdom to not do it alone.

Blog #3 from our campaign "Secrets to become an Elite Entrepreneur"

Most successful founders and entrepreneurs have never gone through the process of founding, operating and managing a business alone.

They almost always have an invaluable sidekick or a brilliant team with the brightest minds out there to help bring their dreams and ambitions into reality.

It takes wisdom and courage to know what you can be capable of and when you should ask someone else for help.

It takes courage because you’re admitting that you don’t have all the answers, and it takes wisdom because your efforts and contribution (your “Hows”) should be focused exclusively where your greatest passion and impact are.

Your attention and energy should not be spread thin, but directed to where you can be more creative and free to innovate.

This is the main idea that Dan Sullivan’s “Who Not How” book asserts.

A lot of people might find pride in individual performances and how “doing it alone” might prove you are better than everyone else. However, in reality, it wastes your energy on tasks that someone else might have performed better at and finished quicker.

This leads us to our second point which is to delegate tasks.

If you are a business-oriented person, instead of figuring out how you can write a code that will create a firewall and protect your company data, find out WHO can help you with this.

Even though it might be more expensive to pay a developer to do it, this will save you time, mental energy and redirect your passion to other tasks, such as figuring out the business strategy and where your company can cut inefficiencies and costs.

This is an important step because it allows us to tap into the intelligence of others who can come up with better solutions faster. It also allows you to share the workload, which can be especially helpful if you have greater tasks to perform for your business.

This is what “whos” are for: they give you the perspectives, abilities and resources to accomplish a goal that you might be able to do on your own, but at the cost of your time and energy.

All in all, remember that results, not effort, is what drives success. Make sure that effort is redirected someplace more valuable where you are most effective and happy at.

After all, YOU are the founder.
